The International Family Law Group LLP (IFLG) is delighted to announce that Natalie Sutherland has joined the firm as a Partner.
Natalie is widely recognised as a leader in modern family law, with particular expertise in UK and international surrogacy, legal parentage, known donor and platonic co-parenting agreements, embryo storage, and posthumous conception. Alongside this, Natalie is an experienced divorce and children solicitor and advises on the full range of complex family law matters, including divorce and financial remedies matters, and children disputes with cross-border elements.
Her appointment marks an important expansion of IFLG’s modern families and fertility law practice, alongside domestic and international divorce and children law, further strengthening the firm’s position as a market leader in international and cutting-edge family law.
Natalie’s experience includes acting in leading cases such as SA v FA [2022], Re X (Catastrophic Injury: Collection and Storage of Sperm) [2022] and Re Z (Surrogacy: Step-parent Adoption) [2024]. She is a Band 1-ranked practitioner for Children Law in Chambers & Partners, recognised as a Next Generation Partner in Legal 500, and named in the Citywealth Top 75 Family Lawyers 2025. In 2023, she won Woman of the Year at the Women and Diversity in Law Awards and was Highly Commended as Partner of the Year at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2022.
Beyond her casework, Natalie is a staunch advocate for fertility law reform and workplace support. She co-founded the award-winning In/Fertility in the City initiative, which has become a leading platform, raising awareness of infertility in professional life. She is the firm’s Fertility Officer, a role she has pioneered previously to support employees undergoing fertility treatment.
Lucy Loizou, Managing Partner of IFLG, commented:
“Natalie is a truly exceptional lawyer whose expertise in modern families and surrogacy is unrivalled. Her vision and passion align perfectly with IFLG’s commitment to providing specialist advice in complex and emerging areas of family law. We are thrilled to have her join the partnership – Welcome Natalie!”
The Firm will continue to expand later this month. A further partner will be joining the Partnership over the next few weeks, with details to follow.
