Lucy Greenwood, Lawyer and Partner of iFLG and IBSA guest speaker, joined Roy Saunders from IFS and Chair of the IBSA, alongside Liz Palmer of Howard Kennedy and Philip Baker KC OBE of Field Court Tax Chambers for an online workshop ‘Inheritance Tax and Succession Planning Workshop’ on 7 November 2024.
The session covered the impact of the October Budget and the proposed decade of ‘national renewal’ on various issues, including inheritance tax and other non-tax aspects of succession planning, including from a family law perspective. The afternoon workshop focused on the ongoing relevance of offshore trusts, the potential increased interest in Foundations in the UK, and residence planning related to the countries discussed in the IBSA summer podcast series, as well as addressing other significant issues to help families navigate the complexities of estate management and related family law considerations.
